Dandy finally gets his time to shine. But first, he kills all the freaks. Earlier in the day, there is a confrontation between him and them. They insult him. He kills them.
Desiree, Jimmy, Bette and Dot become the last survivors. Dandy kidnaps the twins and marries Bette. The wedding night leads to Dandy’s final hours. They put him in the Houdini water torture cell…and drown him.
Flash ahead.
Elsa achieves her dream of stardom. She’s on a hit tv show and married to her handsome manager Michael. Elsa’s life seems perfect. She organizes a meeting with Massimo, where she reveals the truth.
Michael and her marriage is based on lies and she’s unhappy with her success. She asks him to runaway with her. However, Massimo lets Elsa know that he’s dying. Their happy ending can never happen.
Michael and Gable (head of the network) visit Elsa. They reveal that the press now have the videos of her disfiguration in Germany. This will ends Elsa’s career.
The network was pressuring Elsa to do a Halloween show. She refused but now with her career over, she agrees to it. While performing on stage, Edward Mordrake and Twisty appear to claim her life.
Elsa is then transported to an alternative universe with the other dead Freaks.
We see Bette, Dot, Desiree, and Jimmy watching Elsa’s final performance. Desiree sees it in a shop window with her husband, Angus, and children. Jimmy watches it, then it’s revealed he’s married to Dot. Her and Bette are expecting a child.
A happy ending for everyone.
Final Thoughts
American Horror Story: Freak Show started off really strong. The acting was better than ever, the show tried some cool editing tricks, and there was a decent story-arc. By episode 3 or 4, it all fell apart. What brought this season of American Horror Story down was lack of a clear vision. It seemed like Ryan Murphy and team were just making things up as they went along.
This is the same feeling Coven had towards the end. We hope the season 5 revamp will spark a new era of American Horror Story storytelling. So hopefully it can be as strong as it was for Murder House and Asylum.
